About the Parish
We have a great community at St Benedict's. I often hear comments from visitors complimenting us on how welcoming we are, and many say that they experience a great sense of belonging when they celebrate with us. These comments fill me with joy, because they show that we are clearly founding our community on Jesus.
Jesus, of course, is our foundation. This is why praying to Jesus, and worshipping Him, are priorities for us all. For it is from this relationship with Jesus, that all of our good works flow.
I am proud to say that the parishioners of St Benedict's clearly prioritise the works of Jesus too. We are great supporters of those struggling in our area, through supporting the works of our St Vincent de Paul Conference. We also have a strong Social Justice Team raising money for various significant projects. One such project, is supporting the building of a hospital in a remote area of Papua New Guinea, so that the locals can have access to basic medical treatment.
We are also a Christian community very aware of our call to spread the Good News of Jesus to others. Therefore, we have a very exciting program called Alpha aimed at introducing people to the Catholic faith in a very enjoyable way.
In the parish we also have a very vibrant Youth Group, who have a lot of fun. We also prioritise assisting parents in the faith formation of their children, particularly by offering easy access to the Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Church (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion).
All the information on what I have written above, and much more, can found on this website.
All people are welcome, and if I don't know you, I very much look forward to meeting you soon.
May God bless you always,
Fr Bryan
