Ministry Opportunities Within The Parish

Mass Ministries:

"Mother Church earnestly desires that all the faithful should be led to that fully conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy. Such participation by the Christian people as a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a redeemed people (1 Peter 2:9; cf. 2:4–5), is their right and duty by reason of their baptism." (Sacrosanctum Concilium 14).All are welcome and encouraged to participate in our ministries for our Masses.

  • Sacristans: Setting up Mass and organising the ministers for each Mass.
  • Commentators: Commentators introduce Mass and lead us in the Prayers of the Faithful.
  • Readers: Proclaim the Word of God at each Mass.
  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Distribute Holy Communion at our Masses.
  • Altar Servers: Children who have made their First Holy Communion are more than welcome to become Altar Servers.
  • Music Ministry: St Augustine brilliantly said, "When we sing we pray twice" (St. Augustine, Commentary on Psalm 73, 1). Therefore, Music Ministry is very important in our liturgies. If you can play a musical instrument, or if you can sing relatively well, and you feel called to serve God and our parish with these gifts, please contact our Music Coordinator via Contact Us - North Lakes Parish
  • PowerPoint Ministry: The Power Point Ministry helps us enable all parishioners to fully participate in our Masses. If you are familiar with PowerPoint, and feel called to participate in the life of that parish using this gift, then please contact the Parish Office on Contact Us - North Lakes Parish

Youth and Young Adult Ministry:

We have a vibrant Youth Group. We welcome those wanting to participate in the leadership of this group, or to help the youth Group in other ways. Please contact our Youth Coordinator for further information at [email protected] or [email protected]
